This is an attempt to tell ZYNGA exactly how we feel, what we want and we hope they will start listening to us,their moneymakers! This is not a hate group - we just want our voices to be heard. Please join because we need to show them how many of us are really disappointed with the current situation.
I wrote this open letter to ZYNGA 2 days ago, emailed it to them and also posted it to my profile. Since then, I have had the most amazing support from all over the world and this Group is created to inform ZYNGA that it's high time they listen to us . . . the users/players and also the people who are helping them making millions - If not for us, you would have been nothing ZYNGA!
MY LETTER
"I started playing FarmVille in August of 2009. I have managed to reach level 43 and got to the point where I have stopped playing any other games or applications on Facebook. FarmVille is addictive and I have made amazing friends with people from all over the world.
During December of 2009 I decided to host a Mystery Egg Hunt. I was blown away by the overwhelming response to my idea. I never thought for one minute that so many people would have joined in, so the first egg hunt was on my wall and I had to add 1500 people overnight to enable them to take part in the hunt. Then I decided to create a group Amandas Egg Hunting Events and hosted the second Egg Hunt on the group wall. Needless to say, the second one had more egg collectors donating their eggs and it was once again a huge success until I had to close it a few hours earlier because between Zynga and facebook, it was impossible to finish the event.
We received numerous warnings (me, admin members, egg collectors) because facebook does not allow us to publish eggs to the group wall and we had to copy link locations to post the egg links to the events wall. Some of us got blocked for this and some warnings even informed us that we were reported for being a bad site.
My goodness me we are creating fun with virtual eggs and are sharing/giving people the opportunity to hatch eggs for hours on end and having fun doing all of thist. A lot of people all over the world came together on the same site and had fun, met other people who shares the same interest and in this, we were all promoting Zynga's awesome game.
Over Christmas my farm would not load for 2 days. I have tried everything to get in. Eventually got in but missed out on a lot because my gift box was on max 30 and I could not get any bonus tree gifts when my friends published trees. When everybody was expanding their storage I would not get the option to expand. I have tried everything, even reported my problem on the forum. I am still waiting for a response. On the 2rd day after barn-raising began, I could not access my farm once again and opened a new profile where I started a new farm from scratch.
I am now on level 29 and even though I am flying through the levels because of my amazing friends and all their support and help, I am still encouraging problems. 90\% of the time my neighbors are missing on my farm which simply means, I cannot fertilize and in that gain XP Points, etc. Loading problems is still an issue sometimes and the out of sync messages are driving me nuts every single day.
In the meantime I realized that a lot of members in the Egg Hunting Events Group and some on my friend list, are never able to hatch any eggs due to the fact that they have slower connections and cant compete against those with broadband. It broke my heart to see certain members comment again and again that they missed an egg, so I gathered names of people with slower connections and started a secret group which no-one else could see on facebook. Another friend, who is an egg collector joined in and we posted eggs for these guys and I wish you could see how appreciative they were. Some of them hatched an egg for the very first time since they did not have competition from others with faster connections. I would post an egg and sometimes someone would comment 55 min later that they successfully hatched the egg.
These two groups (Amand's Egg Hunting Events and Amanda's Exclusive Egg Hunting for those with slower Connections) has no purpose anymore because you have thrown us yet another curve ball when you changed the links so only friends can use our links. I have posted the closing of the events wall and members are devastated, just as me and all my wonderful admin members. I have not yet posted the close of the group to the smaller slower connections group. It will be heartbreaking and I am at a loss for words, so I dont know how to tell them this. Just when things were looking up for them, you come and take it away. I have received tons of messages after I posted about the closing of the group. One lady in particular, has never collected an egg before and only hatched eggs in the group. She doesnt understand the problem with the links and are so desperate to save the group that she offered to give me her facebook password, so I can harvest eggs on her farm to post to the group.
Instead of feeling good about the fact that your game is bringing out the best in people and adding smiles to so many faces, you put a stop to people who are using initiative to create more fun and sharing with others without expecting something in return..
It is actually so sad that your priority is to stop people from having fun when you are experiencing so many technical problems which need your urgent attention. When we are experiencing loading problems, out of sync messages, cant send gifts, cant add neighbors, cant fertilize or feed and are losing a lot of stuff we could have shared and wanted to share with our friends but never got the chance to publish because our farms freezes up etc, you decide to work overtime to stop us from sharing links outside our friend list. Shame on you!
We are making you tons of money, helped you raise money for the Haiti EQ, helped you win the Social Application of the Year Award and this is how you thank us. On top of this you change the prizes in eggs to stuff which we can buy in the Market Place and is way below standard. The gifts in the White Mystery Eggs are better than those in your Treasured Golden Mystery Egg. Ever thougt of XP Points and FV Cash in Golden Eggs?
You may be developing this awesome game but you are obviously not playing it because you have no clue as to what is going on from a players point of view. We are the players and we give you feedback on a daily basis.
There are so many fake groups with empty promises. Why not concentrate on shutting them down but you spoil the fun for groups that actually promote one of your games
We are telling you exactly what we need and want all over facebook and the forum. Maybe you should start listening to us. So many glitches (Your mistakes Zynga) made it possible for some of us to have more than one coop but thousands were not so lucky it is not their mistake that they havent been able to get another coop as it is not our mistake to have been lucky enough to find another coop on our farms during barn-raising. But it is not fair to those that are still stuck with one coop and you worry about links.
We have been waiting for like forever for the 24 x 24 farm and for more than a year now it says coming soon. "
Within 8 hours after I have e-mailed ZYNGA this letter, 24 x 24 expansion becomes available, initially to fans only. Why - they have 75 million players but only 11 000 of those actually joined their fan page on Facebook, so this is the perfect opportunity to force people to join their fan page to boost their numbers and image.
As soon as this farm expansion became available, errors struck once more and we get error messages to tell us that we are not a fan of FarmVille so therefore we cannot expand. I have been a fan since I started playing and when I try to join, then the message tell me I am a fan. Zynga at their best - as soon as they introduce new features, they mess up the whole of Facebook.
Then since yesterday mystery eggs really becomes treasured mystery items, since they are scarcer than Cow bells on farmVille feeds. ZYNGA has done it once more. Reduced the odds on finding eggs and everyone is struggling. Why are they so damn good at spoiling fun but can't sort out major problems with their severs, etc.
Mystery eggs should be treasure items but why give us plenty and let us have fun with something and then take it away. Same with fertilizing all our neighbors.
I won't be surprised if we find "better odds to find mystery eggs" for sale in the market someday in future, off course for sale with FV cash which we can buy from ZYNGA with real money because in the end that is all they care about - Money!
Since yesterday we can gift Mystery boxes and co-incidentally there is XP Points, FV Cash and fuel in some BUT once again so many sh@t to work through before you get one of those because they are scarce also.
SUGGESTIONS TO ZYNGA
1. Open the links to people outside our friend list again or implement a system where I can for example apply to register my group to allow all links posted there to work for all members.
2. When we get the option to publish eggs, collectibles, etc. give us an option to publish either to our profiles or to a group of our choice.
3. Put back MORE valuable prices in eggs (Heard fuel is back but havent confirmed for myself since I havent been hatching lately because my farm is too small to place all the Sh@t you have in your eggs and mystery boxes lately. Give us better gifts in eggsand Mystery boxes in general Ever thought of XP Points, FV Cash, etc in Golden Eggs.
4. Sort out the missing neighbors, error messages, loading problems, etc asap. We deserve better.
5. We want to have the opportunity to be able to fertilize all our neighbors once again.
6. We want more levels after level 70.
7. We want to be able to gift fuel once again.
8. We want to be able to harvest with one click.
9. We want to be able to gift all our friend on a daily basis.
10. Increase the Gift Box on our farms because the collectibles for instance takes up all the space at the moment. i don't want to sell them but I can't place them since I already have 10 of that particular item in collections.
11. Put back the fun in the game for your millions of fans.
