First of all I would like to apologize to all HD-DVD owners: I am sorry that you picked the wrong multinational conglomerate to invest for your High Definition Media needs. Clearly the Blu guy is now winning as shown by Consumer purchasing data and major studio support. HD-DVD has my respect, but clearly is not the winner of this war.
This petition is for stopping the High Definition Format War. Frankly, I am tired of the fighting and bickering over which format is more Technically Superior at the moment. They both support 1080p picture...that is as good as my HDTV can show. Additionally, there is too much news space being filled with this format war. Lets fill that space with the joy of a single format, Blu-Ray.
Everyone on either side of the fence is disappointed in the exclusives that each brand has over the other. I just need to hear about great movies coming out on for my next generation High Definition Media player. I dont want to have to worry about exclusives or proprietary anything...especially Joe Q public.
HD-DVD is deader than ever, with cheaper liquidation hardware prices, and only 2 Major studios left providing support. Even Porn is leaving HD-DVD. I guess Warner feels that a single format is better for everyone, and I agree.
The score is 7 to 2. Blu Ray Wins. Please bow out gracefully HD-DVD dont make a fool of yourself and your customers...please treat them with the respect that they deserve. Please offer a trade in program so that they can get a Dual Format player and not lose out on the current media they have purchased and at the same time setting them up for their future Blu-Ray purchases. This is a Win/Win Scenario for the consumer!
