Plight of Ethiopean Refugees in Khartoum

Over two hundred Ethiopean migrants to Sudan who fled the attrocities of Sudanese Police who kept chasing them for identities as illegal migrants and occupied the UNHCR Offices in Khartoum since 21st. Nov 2006 are on hunger strilke.
"According to their representative Mewchaw, who was a university student at Arat kilo, the hunger strikes have three demands for the UNHCR and the Sudanese refugee commission ( COR):
1-To be given Refugee IDs
2-If they can not issue at least temporally IDs to be taken to refugee camps and save them from arrest and deportation
3-To protest the on going abusing of Ethiopians with no IDs."
Among those are women, infants and children as well as sick persons who need urgent medical care.
We hereby plea to all concerned to take necessary favorable measures to put an end to their plight
