Prayer After Ayodhya Attack

Dear Mr. Advani,


Like everyone else around the world, we are deeply saddened and angered by the attack on Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya but we don't think that a call for Bandh is the correct response because the demonstrations that might accompany this Bandh might lead to stoking the anger and could even cause violence.

When terrorists do something like this, the best response is one that they are least expecting. In the case of Ayodhya - the mission of terrorists is to stoke feelings of suspicion and religious hatred in India and if that can lead to violence they would have hit the bull's eye.


We request you to instead give a call for all Indians to go to their favorite place of worship at a pre-announced time (maybe 9:15 AM - when the attack started) and pray for peace and progress of India. Imagine the slap terrorists will get when they see an entire country coming together in prayers against them; imagine the lead story in evening news; imagine the pictures in next day's newspapers and imagine the goodwill our country will earn over the world.
