Preserve the Status of University of Mary Washington

We, the undersigned, as students, faculty, administrators, staff, and alumni of the University of Mary Washington (formerly Mary Washington College), as well as members of the greater Fredericksburg and Mary Washington communities, are very happy that the College is now a University. We applaud the move to university status and desire to let our leaders realise that the University status will bring greater glory, prestige, and honour to the school as well as to the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The people who still contest the move are whiney babies, who need to stand aside in the face of progress. Status as a University will allow greater resepect internationally, the US is the only country that archaicly calls a University a college, which in the english system is a high school. The aforementioned whiny babies are obviously more provincial than west Australian and should be ignored.

In conclusion, we support the usage of University, and also think the new logo is pretty slick.
