President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney: Put a hold on campaigning, including media ads and donations, until Nov. 3.

 

With hurricane Sandy bearing down on the East coast as I type this, a large portion of our population won't even have power to watch political ads; nor is it prudent to continue campaigning during this disaster; NOR should it ever be turned into any kind of political discussion. I would like to encourage both of these gentlemen - our current and/or future leaders - to divert funds that would go towards their campaign coffers directly to the American Red Cross, FEMA, victims of the storms, and/or other relief efforts. Suspend campaigning until recovery is underway, preferably Saturday, Nov. 3. Show America and the world that there are far more important things than trying to win power. Additionally, encourage all other political campaigns across the country, no matter how hotly contested, to do the same; and, although you can suggest directly, I think associated PACs will get the point.
