Protest against MSN Group closures

MSN Groups are used daily, by people from all over the world. Real friendships have been made, support networks fostered and a true sense of community has grown. For some people MSN Groups are invaluable conduit for social contact, laughter, fun and a sharing forum. Many disabled people all over world use the Groups as a lifeline to the outside world.

Should MSN choose to close Groups thousands of people - literally that- shall suddenly become dispossessed and disenfranchised from their online friendship family, their social umbilical cord severed at a stroke, friends lost.

That MSN runs the Groups system for free, for so long is creditable, a rare act of altruism by one of the largest companies in the world. However, we, the users of Groups, have been given no reason why MSN has decided to close Groups or to give us the chance to migrate our old groups to the new Windows Live System.

We the undersigned vehemently protest the closing of the groups and the transferral of the Groups communities to a totally unsuitable new venue and ask MSN to reconsider.

Please let these invaluable groups stay where they are.
