Dear Dave
Re: Protest AGAINST the request for the match between West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur FC on 7/5/06 to be replayed
Both teams fielded 11 players from squad members available. The game was played to a conclusion. We the undersigned vehermently appose the request for a replay, not least on the grounds that it would set a precident. Some of Tottenhams squad members were 'not match fit', the cause is incidental, so ordering a replay would affectively sanction teams to request replays when they have players injured and not match fit.
We also would like to point out that West Ham also have a case to replay the match as the spetacle and challenge was seriously undermined because of Tottenhams plight.... What? thats just bunkum. Again we refer to the first point above. Premiership matches are almost always played with one or both teams fielding players at 50\% fitness or fielding second choice players because of fitness problems, its what makes the premiership so exciting and unpredictable.
If the FA grant Tottenhams request then we will be writing to you requestin g that all Arsenals games played this season which fielded less than 100\% fit players or replacement players because of injury or illness, be replayed, it would only be fair.
