A Public Appeal to the Kachin Ceasefire Groups
(Kachin Independent Organization (KIO)/ Kachin Independent Army (KIA), the New Democratic Army-Kachin NDA (K) and Kachin Defence Army (KDA)
The National Convention organized forcefully by the Burmese military regime is not the answer to current political crisis in Burma. Therefore, we would like to urge the Kachin ceasefire groups namely Kachin Independent Organization (KIO)/ Kachin Independent Army (KIA), the New Democratic Army-Kachin NDA (K) and Kachin Defence Army (KDA) to withdraw its support from a sham National Convention and a referendum.
We earnestly urge the Kachin ceasefire groups to STOP supporting National Convention and we demand to review the ceasefire deals with the SPDC. We, along with the Kachin public, demanded the Kachin ceasefire groups to stand by wishes of the Kachin people.
Finally, we also would like to urge above said organizations to support Monks and peaceful demonstrators in Burma and follows the mandate of United Nations.
