This petition is from all consumers of the RCA / Thomson 32" Xbox-ready Model 32V550T television. After intensive research and numerous personal experiences with your product, and without any support from your company, we have determined that this product has a manufacturing defect that causes the circuit fuse to blow. Some of us have contacted RCA / Thomson within the one-year warranty period, only to be told that the consumer would still be responsible for paying labor charges, a cost that would represent ~50\% or more of the retail price. This petition is the initial step that we are taking prior to seeking a class-action lawsuit requesting 1) uncharged service from certified RCA service centers to diagnose and permanently fix the manufacturing defect(s) of this product, regardless of the expiration of warranty, including reimbursement of past service charges, and/or 2) financial reimbursement for the retail price paid by each consumer, including reimbursement of past service charges. Thomson Electronic Group, the parent company of RCA, will be contacted during the first quarter of 2006 regarding this issue and details of the lawsuit.
