One of the most influential musicians in the history of rock is the legendary Alice Cooper. Cooper has rocked and shocked audiences for over thirty years and is still going strong. However, one of the greatest travesties of justices is the fact that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame continues to ignore this great artist despite his continued influence on music. One of the criteria they look at is career album sales. While Cooper has several gold and platinum albums, the RIAA and his record labels have not recertified his albums in years. In fact, research reveals that he has sold over 25 million albums in the United States alone, but has only been credited with 8 or 9 million in sales based upon gold and platinum releases. Cooper friend, cowriter and musician, Dick Wagner has stated that the original Alice Cooper Group albums should be at double or triple platinum status. Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits has sold well over 500,000 units in the last several years alone. According to research data complied, "The Alice Cooper Show" "Lace and Whiskey" and "From the Inside" were at gold status years ago and have never been certified at all. The "Trash" album was at double platinum almost ten years ago but has not been recertifed along with his classic 70's releases. "Goes To Hell" has cleared over a million in sales but is still listed as gold. "Hey Stoopid" is also close to gold. I could cite several other examples. We are asking the RIAA, Warner Brothers Music, and Epic Records to give Alice his just due and recertify his albums.
