Reinstate the sable Cocker Spaniel

Currently, solid sable and sable parti-color Cocker Spaniels are disallowed in the show ring in the United States and are considered a disqualification under the ASCs Breed Standard for Cocker Spaniels. We feel this is an injustice to the breed given that sable Cocker Spaniels are recorded in the earliest records of both the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club and that sable appears in other Spaniel breeds eg. English Cocker Spaniels. We feel it is imperative that the sable Cocker Spaniel be reinstated in theASC/ AKC Breed Standard to ensure that it is preserved and protected for future generations to enjoy. Please note - this petition is open to everyone to sign. You do not have to be a member of ASC.
