We the undersigned wish to express our disgust and concern at the 3 month custodial prison sentence handed down to Connor McGhie by Sheriff Ian Abercrombie in Inverness on October 25th 2012, for religously aggrevated breach of the peace. Whilst in no way condoning the offence, we find it incomprehensible that a 19 year old man, in full time employment, with no previous convictions is imprisoned for 3 months, especially when you consider that the same Sheriff only saw fit, one week earlier, to sentence a man convicted of having over 1000 pornographic images of children, to community service. To us, this seems like a warped sense of priorities, and further evidence of the continuing "special" treatment being applied to football fans in Scotland. We call on the Justice Secretary to release Connor and consider a more appropriate punishment.
