Removal of the MCAT Requirements for Medical School

Given recent changes in administration of the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) by the AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges), medical schools should not require this examination for admission. In Canada specifically, there are abundant people who are unable to take the MCAT due to unnavailable test seats since complete computerization in 2007. There are fewer examinee spots and ever increasing numbers of people trying to get into medicine; furthermore, consistent and alarming technical errors for MCAT registration (inclusive for May, June, July, August, and September, 2007) have further reduced people's ability to register for the MCAT. Put simply, due to these problems, there are many would-be strong medical school applicants who are currently denied application to most medical schools because of their inability to fulfill the MCAT requirements.
Moreover, centralization of MCAT test sites since 2007 discriminates against people without the means to travel great distances to their nearest test centre.
Ethically, there are also problems with Canadian medical schools requiring the MCAT; being of the United States, the AAMC is subject to the USA Patriot Act, which infringes on our privacy.
All MCAT prerequisites should be dropped immediately for the next admission cycle.

MCAT or DATS do not measure your competency for a doctoral (DENTAL,MD,MBBS, ETC) program. Many people who have attended medical schools in carribeans or internationally have proved otherwise.
