We, the people, petition to have the website "www.thedirty.com" removed.
If you are unfamiliar with this website, visit it, type your city into the search bar, and prepare to be sickened. I'm sure you'll see at least one person you know.
Not only does this website allow users to post their own tabloid-esque blog, but it allows them to post about local people in their community, pictures included. Not one single post is positive, and many are about young girls.
A common example:
" NIK LOOK OUT the sl*t train had pulled in the station. These Sl*ts are maple ridges Definition on SL*TS. STD **** needs to keep her legs closed and realize that there is such things as a condom you DONT HAVE TO BE THAT DIRTY. You and you friends need to get it through your head Just because you sl*ts doesnt mean ppl like you, They like What They Can Get!"
The above post is about a 15 year old girl, her picture and city are included, and there are more derogatory comments left below.
What kind of society do we live in where people can openly say things like this and showcase it off on the internet?
Is this not a form of bullying? What kind of emotional distress do you think this could cause to young girls and boys? Do we need more suicides and violent youth? There is no doubt that this is what will come from a website like this. Is our personal entertainment really worth it?
If you have any common decency you will understand the need to have this website removed. There is no need in our society for something like this,
it only goes to show how low and degenerate we as human beings are becoming.
How a person can create a website that profits off of other peoples suffering and humiliation is beyond me.
