Remove Penrose Hallowell as Farmland Preservation Chair

We, the undersigned residents of Bucks County, urge you to immediately relieve Penrose Hallowell of his position on the Bucks County Agricultural Land Preservation Board (ALPB) for conflict of interest.
As a realtor with Prudential Fox & Roach, Mr. Hallowell has been representing Main Street Development Group, Inc. in aggressively soliciting additional local landowners to sell their farmland to his clients.
This is a clear conflict of interest. As Chair of the ALPB he is in a position to discourage or block preservation of land that his clients seek to develop, and to use inside information to target owners who might be vulnerable to his overtures to sell.
His real estate activities conflict with the stated goals of the ALPB, which include the preservation of farmland, groundwater, and open space in Bucks County.
Mr. Hallowell's recent sale of his own farmland to a developer for placement of a sewage treatment plant mocks the process of farmland preservation. By enabling a sewage plant to be built, Hallowell has single-handedly removed a major impediment to rampant overdevelopment and further loss of farmland and open space. We urge you to call for his immediate resignation and publicly sanction his actions in this matter.
