Request for Funding an Elementary School in Fairwood in 2007-2011 Capital Budget

Please include funding for an elementary school (School #7) in the FY07 CIP for the Fairwood Community in Bowie.

The Fairwood community supports the building of a public elementary school in the Fairwood subdivision. The residents agree that a school within Fairwood would greatly enhance the quality of our childrens education and would have a high degree of parental support.

The Fairwood Subdivision is Prince George's Countys first Planned Community. When built out in several years, it will have 1900 homes (and by the end of 2006 the community will be nearly 50\% complete).

There are already 400-500 kids in our community in pre-school or of school age. The number of school aged children will likely triple or quadruple when the community is fully built out.

We are ready to partner with the Superintendent, the Board of Education, and the County school system to create a high quality, exemplary school.
