Request for PS3 Firmware Update

We, the loyal customers of your company and future buyers of your electronics, are requesting that you release a Firmware update on the PS3 that increases its video/audio/photo compatibility.

As most of your customer base is interested in quality, we are finding difficulty retaining this quality when converting from one particular format to an appropriate format. Another portion of your customers do not have the hardware capabilities to run programs such as "PS3 Video" to convert to compatible formats.

We understand that although a variety of files are unplayable due to the fact that they are containers of unsupported formats, we are requesting that the capable PS3's firmware be updated to support these formats. This includes support for MKVs and increasing the scope of AVIs that are playable on the PS3, as well as support for resolutions larger than those currently allowed.

Note: to keep this petition as short as possible, the complete list of unsupported file formats will be included in the final email sent to Sony Corporation.
