"Served on USS Coontz DLG9 with distinction 1964 into 1967 with two tours of duty off the coast of North Vietnam where the ship was involved with the sinking of three North Vietnamese PT boats while under attack by the boats."
"I served on the USS Coontz 1984-1988 and helped found the USS Coontz Association. The transom of the USS Coontz is now on display at Nipper Park in Hannibal, MO. It was donated by the USS Coontz Association."
