We the residence of Maryland and Washington, DC feel that the WMATA Metro Transit is not accommodating the people all around. Leaving Maryland from Suitland has become more difficult than ever, there are no buses going into DC unless we use the subway. The are no buses leaving the District going into Maryland. Some of us need to go into the Washington DC (Pa Ave, SE area) and along the Fairfax Village area. Also when leaving the Fairfax Village area going into Maryland (Iverson Mall area is even more difficult. We don’t need to a catch bus and then catch a train to catch another bus to get to Iverson Mall area. This also has become a problem for the consumer in the Marlow Heights Shopping Center and around. This just does not make since to have to pay more for less service. I have found several people having to walk because after the 6:05a.m. bus, there was not another bus until 6:40 a.m.. We the people need the Maryland buses back on the streets no the tracks. Prime example today January 31, 2001, Suitland Station at 630 a.m. We the people arrived to find that the train station had a switch malfunction at the Branch Avenue Station. The train station was extremely crowded and the people started leaving back out from the station to catch a bus to another train station. This is just not acceptable by the people.
