Residents for a Fair Distribution of Ward 2 Polling Places

The undersigned residents of Washington, DC, strongly urge the DC Board of Elections and Ethics to facilitate at least one (1) polling place to serve Ward 2 voters in the Dupont Circle, Kalorama, Logan Circle, Shaw or U Street neighborhoods for the upcoming special election for At-Large City Council.
Having only two polling places in Ward 2 -- both of which are in the western edge of the Ward and primarily serve the Georgetown and Foggy Bottom neighborhoods -- poses an unfair burden on the 32,963 registered voters (DCBOEE August 2010 Report) residing in neighborhoods not served by the selected polling places. In an effort to facilitate a fair distribution of polling places that more accurately represents the distribution of registered voters in Ward 2, DCBOEE should either replace the Duke Ellington School for the Arts polling place with a more centrally-located polling place to accommodate eastern Ward 2 voters, or add an additional polling place in eastern Ward 2.
