Respect Community Requirements for Clarendon-Maryville TIF

We, the undersigned Uptown residents and stakeholders, urge an immediate halt to the review of any development plan for the Clarendon-Maryville TIF site until:
The alderman chosen in the February 2011 municipal election is in office and can oversee a community planning process and the subsequent development of the site;
The comprehensive community planning process is in place;
All development plans account fully for the density and green space requirements of the City of Chicago Department of Planning and the Uptown community.
Until then, we again urge a halt to any further action on a taxpayer-subsidized development on the Clarendon-Maryville TIF site.

There are myriad reasons why the current proposed structure will harm the community of Uptown rather than help. I'm not against a mixed use space, including shopping, a hotel, condos and rentals. However, a structure this large, in this area will destroy

I support reasonable, responsible development of the site in keeping with the character of the community and its urban planning goals. To date, I have not seen such a plan.
