Restore Wooden Belvedere Abbott Road Sign
Sign Now
Last July the old wooden Belvedere Abbott Road sign with its wrought iron arm collapsed at the beginning of Abbott Road on Washington Street due to rot. Fortunately, the sign was recovered by the Wellesley Police and Highway Department.
We are hoping to restore and preserve this historic landmark in our neighborhood. The cost to replace this icon is estimated at $6,000. The town's Community Preservation Committee is offering to pay part and may consider the full amount if the neighbors endorse and approve a replacement.
The CPC meeting is TONIGHT, January 27. ***If you have not yet signed the petition at the Windsor Press or elsewhere, please consider endorsing this petition before the meeting tonight.***
