Dear members of the Court of Historic American Flags,
We the undersigned do request that you return the Third National Flag of the Confederate States of America (CSA) back to its respective position among the other historical flags that have changed America's past history. The majority of you complain that it is a divisive symbol, and foolishly compare it to the Nazi swastika. And why did you initiate this removal? So a certain group of people would not be insulted.
First of all, we would like to point out that you cannot change history. What occurred in the past is now over. No man or woman can alter that fact. Second of all, an estimated 65,000 African-Americans served under the Confederate Battle Flag, and the Third National Flag as well. Now, do you think you should pertain to the side of history or political correctness? What a few people complain about you should not remove. The Third National Flag is a part of American history just as any other flag is. What if a number of your visitors complained that the United States Flag (which flew over every slave ship from 1775-1865 in America) is a denotation of American racism, would you remove that from your collection as well?
We merely ask you to be fair to our rich history, and return the flag back to the court. Every aspect of American history must be fairly shown, regardless of what your personal opinions may be. Thank you for your time.

My Great Great Grandfather fought under this flag. Less than 10% of Confederate troops owned slaves, and yet there were thousands of blacks, both freed and enslaved that fought for the south. If your going to take measure of a man, take the full measure!
