Revised Bulgarian Dog Spinning

I realized my first petition didn't thouroughly explain the horror of the act I'm trying to put to and end, so here it is, re-written.


I recently came across an article in a London newspaper about the village of Brodilovos ritual of dog-spinning. Basically, a frightened dog is tied up high over a pool of water, between two tightly twisted pieces of rope, the dog is let go and spins in the air until it gets so scared it empties its bowels. This is what the people are aiming for. If the dog defecates, they believe it will bring a prosperous spring. To say the very least I am appalled. It is a truly sick and barbaric custom and needs to be put to an end. Please help by signing this petition and furthermore I encourage you all to write to the Bulgarian embassy.
