Rhode Island Permanent Roadside Memorial Markers
Sign Now
I had noticed in many other States that when a person loses their life due to a motor vehicle accident that upon the family's request they will erect a permanent roadside memorial marker with the deceased's name on it.
I soon found that Rhode Island is one of the States that does not offer this service.
I wrote to Senator Reed and asked that he introduce a Bill into congress for having these Memorials for all families put into place upon request.
His response was to forward my request to the Dept of Highway safety (Who rejected my request of course)which was useless because we all know that a Senator must introduce this Bill.
I have since written to Senator Chaffee and have yet to hear back from him.
This petition is to bring attention to this and get them to introduce the Bill for Permanent Roadside Memorial Markers making them available to ALL the families who wish to have them.
Please sign this petition and help other families as well as myself who have lost a loved one on the roadways of Rhode Island.
Thank you!
