Rights for the Deceased

We would like local and federal governments to provide rights for the deceased and their grieving loved ones. We demand the right of peaceful mourning be allowed to anyone who has lost a loved one. We also demand the deceased to be able to have a memorial service without protests occuring nearby. That is why we would like to see all 50 states adopt legislation that would either ban protests and pickets at funeral/memorial sites during times of funeral service or that these protests take place at least 500 feet away from the site of the funerary services as they are taking place. This ensures the deceased a humane memorial service and their loved ones time to mourn and remember without the emotional distress of having a protest nearby. It breaks our heart to see people who have to bury their parent, spouse, sibling, child, or friend admist turmoil created by individuals who think the appropriate time to announce their beliefs to those grieving is when they would just like a moment of peace and support. We want these rights to be afforded to all human beings as their final right of passage from this world.

77. Michael Johnmeneleyr | First amendment allows for peaceful protest - but people protesting funerals are anything but peaceful in nature.
76. Jacob H | This madness has got to end...The families have enough to deal with as it is. WBC are the last people that should be lecturing us about morals, I am sure they have already earned a place in Hell. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.
