Rules against long hair in schools

Certain schools should not make students keep their hair short and should allow students to grow their hair to a reasonable length. i am making this petition because myself, and many other students in my year were forced to get our hair cut recently, and if we didnt, we would face suspension. which the principal followed up on the next day. this issue may seem trivial but it is very important to our group in school and i believe this is an enfringement on our rights as humans to have control over our appearance and it shows no respect for us. it gives us no freedom to express individuality or style. we are already restricted in what we wear, by being forced to wear uniforms. i dont object to that, but i draw the line at the school's management clamping down on long(ish) hair.
please sign your name to this petition, even if your school does not object to long hair. if i get enough names signed here then i will present a copy of this petition to the principal of my school and hope that the school's management will think towards ammending the school rules regarding hair length.
i think that yes, the line should be drawn somewhere on length/style of hair, but the line should be extended a bit and there should not be such ridiculous punishments put in place for having shaggy hair. please contribute to our cause. thank you.
