Safe Bike Baku

We, the students and citizens of Baku, call on city leaders to build a continuous, protected bike lane network connecting key areas such as the Boulevard, White City, Neftchilar Avenue, and Tbilisi Avenue. Currently, bike lanes are too short, disconnected, or blocked by parked cars, forcing cyclists into dangerous traffic. This discourages people from cycling, even though it is a clean, fast, and healthy way to get around. A well-designed bike network will improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion and pollution, encourage more students, workers, and families to bike, and promote a healthier, more modern city. We urge city leaders to connect existing bike lane segments into a continuous route, install protective barriers, paint clear safety zones at intersections, and add bike-specific signage and symbols.
