This is a Petition for a Safe Standing Area to be built in the Proposed New Ground of Swindon Town Football Club.

This would NOT mean a return to terraces of old. German stadiums that have safe standing areas have proven that these can be successful but more importantly safe.

A recent report by Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council said the safety risk posed by persistent standing at games was less than that created by goal celebrations.

We would also like to transfer the power to impose an "all seater only" restriction from the Secretary of State to the local (safety) authorities, the clubs and the supporters themselves - the people most directly affected by such decisions.
