Safer Internet

This petition is to urge the Microsoft company to develop an industry standard method to make the net a safer place. Microsoft needs to develop a rating method for each site on the web, ideally by a META tag added by the author, like the SafeSurf (www.safesurf.com) organization is attempting to fully implement. From that META tag, software, such as Internet Explorer, could obtain a safety rating, and, based upon settings decided by the system administrator, either display or not display this site.
Of course, this would only be the first step to obtain full internet safety. It will take other companies such as Mozilla, AOL, and Netscape to follow in Microsoft's footsteps.
Microsoft has used their power in the past to make great changes to the internet, and they can do so much more. So, please, sign this petition to urge the Microsoft Corporation to do so.
This petition will be printed and mailed to the Microsoft Corporation when 5,000 signatures are recieved or on December 31, 2006, whichever comes first.
