By signing this petition, you agree that SafeSearching.coms decision to force the webmasters of the fansite, Alyssa-Milano.org, to close down was unjust and unfair. The following message was posted by the webmasters of Alyssa-Milano.org on June 5, 2006:
The site had to close due to a request from SafeSearching which stated that fansites keep fans from not visiting her official site and any use of pictures of her or the actress' name on fansites could violate and hurt her reputation (or something like that).
So unfortunately, I had no choice but to close the site. Visit the official site. Thank you all for your support, visits and contributions.
It is incredibly clear that the reason that SafeSearching ordered Alyssa-Milano.org to be closed down is because they were not receiving enough attention, recognition, and hits. If the reason behind SafeSearchings action WAS fair, I would not mind, but the truth is that their action was unfair. When it comes to websites, it does not matter if the site is official or not; what matters to fans is the content of the site. Clearly, enough people thought that Alyssa-Milano.org was the best website for information about Alyssa Milano to make SafeSearching.com feel threatened. It is very obvious that this website was only closed because it was hurting SafeSearchings precious ego.
