Save Common Wealth Games

To: Prime Minister of India We The People Of India Protest Against Corrupt Officials handling Commonwealth Games and to save the CW games from being washed away! We demand that there should be much more transparency in the financial matters concerning tax-payers’ money. We demand that there should be more accountability by leveraging technology in all projects impacting the common man! Why are we protesting? What is the current state of affairs of the organizing committee of CWG? Organizing CWG smoothly has been an utmost matter of pride for the citizens of this country. We always want to put across an image of a progressive nation in front of the whole world. This was an event to demonstrate our capabilities and engineering strengths. But people at senior position have failed their fellow countrymen. The whole world is watching us now in awe at the level of corruptions that exist in this country. How some people, for a few dollars and in order to build personal fortune, can even sell the country. What are we protesting? What has the Indian Government done and where has it failed? We are protesting that people in highly responsible position cannot be allowed to tarnish the image of this nation and go scot free. We are protesting that The Indian Government should bring in more and more transparency into the system. The basics of project management have not been followed in the case of CWG OC. Projects of this scale should have online status reporting on almost real time basis. This nation provides the software tools to the world, there is no reason why we cannot build it for our own government. The point is - whether the government has the will to do it, because there are lots of Narayana Murthys and Sreedharans and Jagmohans who can get it done. There is ample talent in this country, for God’s sake, bring in meritocracy into the system. Let the best men with proper credentials only lead when it comes to executing projects with-in the government, like in the case of Mr. Nandan Nilekani for implementing UID. Let this become a rule rather than exception. Please make sure that our pride remains intact with regards to CWG. That everything goes off smoothly and we don’t have to drown ourselves in shame.
