Save Indian Hockey

Respected President,

Our axiom in our country inspired us to take this step. We send this letter with hope and belief that our concerns will be taken into consideration. This is an appeal on behalf of all hockey fans in our country.
We are a young group of hockey fans and players, expressing our unhappiness towards the present status of the sport. This letter could go on to become a thesis if we sit down to explain the various controversies and problems the game is in. What surprises us is the fact that all the officials in spite of the pathetic state still dont show any sign of improvement.
No single person can be blamed for this mal- functioning of the Indian Hockey Federation. It is a combined effort by most of the officials; include the ones at the top to make sure that the game does not improve. We dont find it necessary to mention the unofficial functioning that the IHF carries on, as it is an open secret. It is a national shame when the national game is to going through a rough patch, yet fails to get attention and aid.
Focusing on the core concern of our group is the future and the state of hockey players. Its amazing when we talk them, as most of them still want to represent the country for the love of the game and India. There dont have any another incentive that would help them choose this game. Their sole motivation is only their love and passion towards the game. The financial position of the players once again need not be explained, like we mentioned it would open new doors and the letter would have to just go on. There is no dearth of talent, there is a problem is recognizing the talent. There is no dearth of funds, there is a problem is the distribution of the funds, there is no dearth of skill, there is a problem is channalising the skill.
We dont want people to wonder why this is our national game, we want them to know this was the game that bought us laurels in the form of 8 Olympic gold medals. We are not asking them to live in the past glory, but we want to emphasize on the point that we can still do it and all it takes is right administration.
We understand that when we look with a wide lens, this issue might seem trivial, but when we see that the other games get more than necessary attention, why not the national game?
We thank you in anticipation that letter of appeal will be given some importance, as it is very close to all our hearts as it is our NATIONAL GAME.
