Murdishaw Playcentre offers a year round childcare service for working parents. The service is available term time (with collection/delivery of children) to Gorsewood, Murdishaw West Primary Schools and St. Martins RC School. Holiday Childcare is available to all and operates Monday Friday 7.30 a.m. 6.00 p.m.
It also offers an open access/drop in play service for children aged 5 13 years old, 4.00 p.m. 6.00 p.m. Monday to Friday term time and 10.00 a.m. 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. 5.00 p.m. in school holidays. This service is free of charge.
This is soon to change with the announcement of the closure of this long standing community service, enforcing those that use its services to travel out to other local centres, but for many this is going to be costly and cause major inconvenience and be impossible for some. The closure is also taking away a safe social environment for all of our children who use the free drop in service after school and especially in the holidays.
We call upon Halton Borough Council to take note that the local community want them to halt the closure of one of its longest running services.
