Save Our Drinking Water

Arkansas Senate Bill 230 places corporate profits ahead of public health, and endangers our drinking water. We, the undersigned, urge you to vote NO on Senate Bill 230.
Deltic Timber, Inc., seeks to develop a large tract of property within the Lake Maumelle watershed. This development will, without a doubt, add an enormous amount of run-off pollutants into Lake Maumelle--the source of clean drinking water for more than 360,000 Arkansans.
The Central AR Water Commission seeks to protect our drinking water by stopping Deltic's development plans. In response, Deltic caused SB 230 to be filed--aimed solely at CAW. SB 230 essentially strips CAW of its power to condemn land for the public good (i.e., to protect our drinking water).
Senate Bill 230 applies ONLY to the Central Arkansas Water Commission, and is legislation aimed at protecting Deltic's profits at the expense of the public health.
We, the undersigned, respectfully ask our legislators to vote NO on SB 230 and YES to clean, safe drinking water.
