Save our Sammy

Early one morning at our office door, 8 years ago, we heard some mewing. We opened the door to see a small, fluffy orange and white kitten sitting on our stoop. We often had stray cats that stopped by now and then for food we put out. We brought him in and gave him something to eat. The thing we noticed most about him was his beautiful green eyes and great big feet. "He's going to be big", we both said. In our work complex we have about ten offices. Everyone seemed to take to the kitten, which we all decided to call "Sam". He was fed, played with, neutered, and nursed through several cat illnesses, such as ear mites, scrapes, abscesses, a thorn in his foot and a cut on his ear. On weekends or holidays someone from the complex would come by to be sure Sam had food and water. Co-workers in the building brought their children and families by to meet and play with him. People up and down the street also took him in at night, and obviously fed him and cared for him. His long fur that often got matted was brushed out; he got fat, happy and content, lying in our cool storage room or on top of someone's desk. He was truly loved and cared for. Then one day recently, a woman came around who had one time worked part time at our complex and said that our "Sam" had told her in a psychic experience that he wanted to have a regular home, so she was going to take him. It was mentioned it to us via another person, not by this person. We all said "NO! He is our cat and if anyone is taking him away, we all need to discuss it and decide". Well, this woman took him anyway, over a weekend, when nobody was around. She left no note as to where he was. He could have died for all we knew. When we found her we told her to bring Sam back to the people who raised him and love him. All of us are terribly sad and outraged! We even had the police go with us to her home but she wouldn't answer the door. This person refuses to bring him back, or even to give us the consideration of speaking directly to us, and has even said she may send him to another state. Why doesn't she just bring him back to us?
Please sign our petition if you believe Sam the cat should be returned to his rightful owners at the office complex, to make decisions about his life and well-being.
Sincerely,
The El Paseo Office Complex in Ojai, CA
