We the people of Delaware County object to the use of the Rose Tree Tavern and the development of a section of Rose Tree Park for commercial use.
Delaware County has limited open space and development in the park is counter to Councils and the communitys desire for additional space. The Rose Tree Tavern is a historical treasure and would be better used as a historical structure or visitor venue. It could house artifacts from the area for viewing by the public and could represent another historical site in close proximity to the Colonial Plantation.
Do we really want the increased traffic during and after business hours in an already congested area?
There are alternative locations which would better serve the Brandywine Visitor & Tourist Bureau and better choices for the Tavern.
Please preserve our park, our space and our historical Tavern.
