This organisation was set up in opposition to the 2006/2011 Road Traffic Bill. The drink/driving laws this act brought in are being rigorously enforced. Disqualification period has been doubled, tripled even quadrupled, e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4 years ban.
You cannot apply for your licence back after half the period.
You can be breathalysed coming from the supermarket/church/school anywhere.
It has to go.
Random breath testing is degrading, inhumane treatment.
It has to be scrapped.
We have no public transport in rural Ireland. No Luas, no Dart. A few taxis are not enough. Rural isolation is a major problem. A lot of people are afraid to go and meet their friends.
This organisation seeks the reversal of the recent drink/driving laws.
