"Reasons NOT to close this school: The school had it's last Ofsted inspection in 2008. In nearly areas it was graded at Grade 2 - "Generally above average with none significantly below average". The opening line of the inspection states: "Shortwood Infant "
"It would be an awful shame to close this lovely school. Young children progress much better in a small environment like this school."
"I recommended a young couple whose children had learning difficulties to shortwood school, and the two girls with the help of the team at shortwood came on in leaps and bounds but unfortunately had to leave when they were subsequently adopted. KEEP SHORTW"
"Excellent school, not many school's left in Uk"
"Former Shortwood Class Teacher"
"You can't close such a lovely little school especially as it's been going 125 years, it would be a crime"

"This school is needed in the community. Please do not close this school and destroy childrens freinships!!!"
"Schools with a small teacher to pupil ratio work far better for both sides. My school had one classroom and 24 pupils. Unfortunately, it fell to LEA cuts too and pupils now have to travel 15 miles to a school, not good at 5."
