Skerries Community Centre Gym is being closed in December. It seems that the decision to close it is based on cost. What we'd like to know is, when our local Community Centre, that many members of our great town helped to fund, considered cost before community? We understand that successive governments have cut funding for local projects, and that the people who run those centres are faced with stark choices everyday in order to stay afloat. What we refuse to do is take this decision lying down. The gym provides an affordable and valuable service for all age groups, it is wonderfully run by all the brilliant staff there, some of whom will lose their jobs now. Please sign our petition.
