We, the undersigned, support preserving the three historic buildings located at 118, 120, and 122 West Main Street in Durham, North Carolina and, therefore, oppose Greenfire Development's application to the Durham Historic Preservation Commission for a certificate of appropriateness (COA) for demolition of these three historic structures.

The demolition of these buildings would be a great loss to the Durham community, further erasing the architectural footprint of our city's rich historical past. Approving a COA for demolition would be an affront to the fact that these buildings are contributing structures within a recognized historic district. In light of this, we urge the Durham Historic Preservation Commission to deny Greenfire Development's application for a COA for demolition of the historic buildings at 118, 120, and 122 West Main Street.
