We, the undersigned fans of the NBC show The West Wing, ask that NBC Television reconsider and rescind their decision to cancel the show.
The West Wing is one of NBC's best shows, and it is our opinion that if its' ratings are poor, that is only because it had been moved from its' original time slot. And while we are all saddened at the death of John Spencer, many shows have survived the death of an actor.
This show won the Emmy for Best Show it's first four seasons in existance, and been nominated for many; many of its' actors have also been nominated and won.. If NBC were to actually invest in the show, The West Wing might be able to continue its' success with real support from the network, no matter who the President is that they elect. The addition of Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits to the cast shows commitment to the show on the part of the producers. It is a shame that the network cannot do the same in return.
The West Wing is a worthwhile, quality show that is desperately needed in this time of inept and corrupt government. We ask that you revoke its' cancellation and give it another chance. Thank you.
