We, the undersigned, request and demand that the planned closure of Woodford Police Station is reverersed and ask the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police to confirm that a full range of police services will be available from Woodford Police Station in the future.
It is clear that Woodford Police Station is under threat of closure. The transfer of Safer Neighbourhood teams to Barkingside and the appointment of surveyors to "measure the building" indicate a decison has been made without consulting residents, local councillors, local police or civilian workers, a clear breach of the MPS' own policy on community engagement and consultation..
We, the undersigned, are determined to fight this "decision by stealth" and preserve and protect Woodford Police Station, a key community facility and asset.
We face rising crime, increasing burglaries, yet have fewer police stations and resources than neighbouring boroughs.
We support this petiton.
