Jamat-E-Islami is the most powerful sectarian political party in Bangladesh. Almost everyone is aware of their heinous role in 1971 against the freedom fight of Bangladesh. They formed militia groups called Razakar and Al Badr, which collaborated with the Pakistani army by killing thousands of Bengali civilians, Freedom fighters and raping and kidnapping Bengali women to the Pakistani camp. After the political change in1975, with the change made in the Constitution of the peoples republic of Bangladesh, they got back their right to do political activities. Now, they are one of the most powerful political party in Bangladesh, and growing powerful day by day by making collations with power hungry so called democratic parties and deceiving common people in the name of religion. They preach religious sectarian political views to the people which are a great harm to the democratic structure of Bangladesh. Their student party called Islami Chatra Shibir is devoted to sectarianism, religious blindness and terrorism. They are famous for their terrorist activities against their opposition parties, Bangladeshi intellectuals and religious minorities. Islamic Chatra Shibir is well known as rog kata shibir because of their vicious way of punishing opponents by cutting their vein. Both Jamat E Islami and Chatra Shibir is in a mission to turn Bangladesh in to a sectarian medieval state. We, the secularist and democratic people of Bangladesh, hereby demand through this petition that-
- Both Jamat-E-Islami and Islami Chatra Shibir should be banned from doing any political activities.
- All war criminals of Jamat-E-Islami should be brought under trial.
