SAY NO TO MAYOR BENNETT'S TRANSIT CHANGES!

Mayor Daryl Bennett cutting services? But wait he said he wouldn't to get elected! WRONG! Mayor Daryl Bennett of Peterborough wants to cut the Police Services budget by $300,000, but has he ever walked downtown? Mayor Daryl Bennett thinks cutting Transit Service on Saturdays at 6 PM is a great money saver, he claims 10 people only ride it after 6 PM. He also thinks the Major Bennett shouldn't run on Sundays. Mayor Daryl Bennett also thinks the buses should start an hour later on Sundays and end an hour earlier on Sundays. Mayor Daryl Bennett wants to cut the Fire Services budget as well. I guess he doesn't think fires happen. BUT, did you know council already voted on this? May 1st, Transit goes down the drain. Goodbye Peterboroughs slogan, "Its a Natural." The new slogan is, "Peterborough, We Were Natural."
Proposed transit cuts
* Reduce Saturday night service, stopping buses at 6:40 p.m. instead of 11:20 p.m. (except for the Trent Express).
* Reduce Sunday service to 8:40 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. from the current operating hours of 8 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. (except for the Trent Express).
* Eliminate Major Bennett route on Sundays.
* Eliminate two weekday runs on the Technology Dr. route.
* Stop Handy-Van service at 6:40 p.m. on Saturdays and 5:20 p.m. on Sundays.
