Scientific Evaluation of German New Medicine (GNM)

Our petition is in reference to your Statement of the Bavarian Cancer Society about German New Medicine, published on March 8, 2006, in the German newspaper Passauer Woche. The English translation of your article is posted on the English GNM website www.germannewmedicine.ca.

In this article you call German New Medicine (GNM) the "abstruse", "irrational", and pseudo-scientific medical doctrine of an outsider that must be prevented from being disseminated with all available judicial means. Despite no evidence that Dr. Hamers findings are incorrect, you are warning patients not to trust this absurd creed.

In response to your accusation, Dr. Hamer invited you in a letter dated May 17, 2006, to a verification conference to substantiate or withdraw your allegations. Dr. Hamer is prepared to demonstrate the accuracy of his medical findings, in front of a video camera, on any number of patients cases. He proposed that his presentation should be supervised by several professors of natural science so that the scientific accuracy of the testing is ensured. Dr. Hamer specifically urges that this conference should be held as soon as possible.

GNM concerns all of us. It concerns our own health as well as the well-being of our family and loved-ones. It concerns all patients who are currently suffering from any condition or illness.

Dr. David Eddy, MD, of the Kaiser Permanentes Care Management Institute in California, stated in a recent article in Business Week (May 29, 2006): The practice of medicine is more guesswork than science" and "we dont have the evidence that treatments work, and we are not investing very much in getting evidence. Dr. Eddys judgment has been endorsed by a great many doctors and health-care quality experts, so the author of the article.

In order to stop this medical guesswork and to invest in getting evidence, we the undersigned are urging you, in your position as President of the Bavarian Cancer Society, to accept Dr. Hamers proposed invitation for a scientific evaluation of GNM so that patients can benefit from Dr. Hamer's medical discoveries as soon as possible.


A SHORT SUMMARY OF GERMAN NEW MEDICINE

German New Medicine (GNM) comprises the medical findings of German medical doctor Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer. In 1981, at the time head internist at a cancer clinic in Germany, Dr. Hamer discovered that every disease is the result of unexpected emotional distress. But he took his research even further. On the basis that all bodily events are controlled from the brain, he compared his patients brain scans with their medical records. This was an entirely new approach. Until then, no studies had examined the origin of disease in the brain and the role of the brain as the mediator between our emotions and a diseased organ.
Dr. Hamer found that at the moment we suffer an unexpected conflict, the shock impacts a specific area in the brain leaving a mark (visible on a brain CT) in the area of the brain that is programmed to deal with the exact type of distress experienced. Based on the science of embryology and our knowledge of the evolution of man, Dr. Hamer established that during the course of our evolution each brain area was programmed to respond instantly to conflicts that could threaten our survival. Since every human being (and mammal) is born with these age-old programs, GNM refers to them as Meaningful Special Biological Programs of Nature. Dr. Hamer firmly established that what we commonly call a disease is not caused by a malfunctioning organism which would destroy itself, but is rather a natural meaningful biological survival program that has been successfully practiced for millions of years of evolution.

GNM provides for the first time the biological explanation of why we get sick, why we get a certain illness, why a cancer grows on a particular organ, what specific type of conflict provokes the onset of a symptom, from what part of the brain the symptom is controlled, and what therapeutic approach is feasible for each type of disease.

GNM is an empirical science based on over 40,000 case studies. Dr. Hamers findings have been verified over 30 times by various medical professional associations, including the University of Trnava, Slovakia. The Medical Faculty of the University of Tьbingen, Germany, has been delaying the testing of Dr. Hamers post-doctoral thesis (Summary of the New Medicine) for over 25(!) years in spite of its legal obligation to do so an unprecedented case in the history of universities. Thus, until now there has never been a single evaluation which could prove Dr. Hamer's discoveries wrong.
