Dear Deputy/Senator,
Following the announcement made by Senator Mary White (FF) of her intentions to seek the nomination to be Fianna Fail's candidate in the 2011 Presidential Election, We, The Undersigned, believe that there is an alternative member of the Houses of Oireachtas who not only has the ability to perform the Presidential duties but also the visionary beliefs to bring Ireland forward.
It is our belief that the suitable candidate for the Alternative Left and Independent Movement is Independent Trinity Senator David Norris. Senator Norris is a true visionary and his views have long been before their time.
By bringing his opinions to a position at the top of Irelands Democracy we can truly say that Ireland is a changed place, That diversity and freedom of speech and choice have prevailed over ignorance and bigotry.
In 2011 we will have the opportunity to change Ireland again. We accomplished great feats and broke long standing barriers with Election of President Mary Robinson in 1990. We believe it is time to make history again, We believe it is time to put real vision and passion back into the role of the president, and to reignite national debate on Irelands future.
We Believe that Senator Norris is an individual of principle, pride and social justice and that his values reflect those of a changing Ireland.
We only ask for you signature, A small part in ensuring that the best Candidate becomes Ireland's next Head of State
