We believe that such a prospect would appeal to a multitude of gamers who enjoy action, adventure, and especially role-playing games of all types.
This gaming world can be used to create the basis for an action game (such as System Shock 2), turn-based role-playing game (Fallout 1&2), real time role-playing game (Baldur's Gate), massively online role-playing games (Everquest), adventure game, or even strategy game (Fallout Tactics). My suggestion and preference being turn-based role-playing for a single player game or action role-playing for a multiplayer game (Neverwinter Nights).
We also believe that the market is saturated with too many Medieval fantasy RPG's(Role Playing Games) and a futuristic RPG is ripe for the making.
I personally believe that the idea for "The Matrix", the movie, was borrowed from the term used to describe the internet of the future in Shadowrun, "The Matrix". If that is an indicator of the potential of this prospect to succeed, then I believe that it is bound for success. That also opens up the possibility of a movie set in the Shadowrun world. A computer game would be a good first step.
We truly believe that if done properly; by allowing enough time for production and development, and by communicating with fans of the Shadowrun universe to gather ideas and ask questions - from the very knowledgeable and vast fan base; such a title has the potential to prosper.
The fan base is already there. By simply doing a search for Shadowrun in a search engine you will come across a vast number of sites dedicated to the gaming world. The rules and world are already set out. All that is needed is some initiative by the license holders.
Please take this into consideration.

The following is an excerpt from the back of the Shadowrun Pencil and Paper Role-playing Game:
The year is 2060. Magic is as real as the mean streets of the mega-sprawls. Corporations call the shots while nailing each other through covert operatives in cutthroat competition. Flesh and machines have merged--the street samurai with his smartguns and impossibly fast reflexes, the decker who can plug his own brain into the worldwide computer network, the rigger who links his mind to his vehicle and takes hairpin turns at fantastic speeds. And you're a part of this wired world, where corporate skyscrapers glitter over the dark shadows they cast. You live in those shadows. You're a shadowrunner -- a street operative.
