We, the undersigned are calling on the Legislature and the Governor to pass a budget that does not have a spending cap, does not allow the taxes to expire, and includes smart revenue options. Budget cuts to child care will leave 11 & 12 year-olds unsupervised and vulnerable to situations that put their safety and security at risk; cuts to adult day health programs will leave frail seniors to fend for themselves; cuts to IHSS workersв hours will cause people with disabilities to be at risk of being placed in costly state institutions and hospitals; and cuts to public schools are forcing children into overcrowded classrooms, rapid turnover of their teachers, and the possibility of a reduced school year. This is not the Golden State we want to live in. If we do not close the remaining $9 billion budget deficit with revenues, our communities are facing more devastating cuts. We cannot accept an all-cuts budget!
